KW University Wins Grand Prize in the Creative Category at the 61st JoongAng Advertising Awards

– The “Kwangwoon Infinite Research Engine” campaign highlights the limitless potential of the University’s research capabilities –

December 18, 2025.​ Kwangwoon University (President Yoon Do-young) announced that its advertising campaign, “Kwangwoon Infinite Research Engine,” won the Creative Grand Prize in the OOH (Out-of-Home) category at the 61st JoongAng Advertising Awards hosted by JoongAng Ilbo. The award ceremony was held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Westin Josun Seoul.

 

The award-winning campaign was planned and produced by the Public Relations Team of the Office of External and International Affairs. It visualizes Kwangwoon University’s internationally competitive research capabilities through the symbolic design language of infinity (∞). The campaign creatively presents the University’s research achievements—including 8th place nationwide in the Faculty Research category of the 2024 JoongAng Ilbo University Rankings, 1st place nationwide in the Citation Index of the 2025 JoongAng Ilbo University Rankings, and 6th place domestically in the Leiden Ranking—under the concept of an endlessly operating research engine.

 

The jury commented that the campaign effectively conveys the scalability and future potential of Kwangwoon University’s research capacity through the infinity motif, noting that the University’s identity was clearly realized through a strong and cohesive creative strategy.

Sang-Yeon Kim, Director of External and International Affairs, stated that the campaign aimed to move beyond conventional university advertising by delivering Kwangwoon University’s strengths through bold and unconventional imagery. He added that the University will continue to expand its brand value through strategic advertising initiatives, expressing appreciation to members of the Kwangwoon community for their strong support through online readers’ voting.

Established in 1965, the JoongAng Advertising Awards are recognized as one of Korea’s most prestigious advertising honors. Winners are selected based on a combined evaluation of readers’ jury scores, professional jury assessments, and executive committee review. This year’s award recipients included Kwangwoon University alongside major organizations such as Korea Expressway Corporation, KT, KT&G, SK Innovation, and Bulgari.
